2016 - Ibiza
Now this is definitely not my idea of a good holiday, however someone dropped out from a group going away and as I had never been to Ibiza I thought; why not...
as our flight left at stupid o'clock in the morning I went to Gatwick the night before and stayed in the Bloc hotel - it was really great. Right in the airport itself, just upstairs in the South Terminal - I would definitely recommend it to anyone who has an early flight to get to.
I went on this trip in July and it was seriously hot, and for this snow bunny that's not a good thing. But I did have a good time with the group I was with, although thankfully we weren't staying right in the middle of 'party-central' otherwise I would have checked in somewhere else (or flown home).
I got a taxi into Old Town and spent a day wandering around, lunch by the harbour (and being green-eyed at the mega yachts), and then I cleverly decided to climb to the top of the Fort at lunchtime. Part's are quite steep and it's a fair trek especially in the boiling hot sun. But the view when I got to the top was definitely worth it.
We hired a boat for one afternoon and went scuba diving and swimming. We then watched the 'famous' sunset along with thousands of other tourists...
