2016 - Amsterdam (again!)

Back again, but this time I was in town for the annual King's day celebrations.  Lot's of street fun and good time with friends, and of course whilst wearing the obligatory orange.

I stayed the Swissotel Amsterdam, Dam Square and it was truly great.  Right in the thick of things - great location (and given that it was King's celebrations it was surprisingly quiet).  Dam square is a five minute walk from the station, so is the perfect place for exploring the city.  The staff at the hotel were really friendly and helpful, and happy to keep my luggage after checkout.

I don't really like shopping, however there is a really great shop called 'otherist' in Amsterdam which sells an eclectic mix of things (I basically love everything in there).  Look it up if you're in the area and looking for my birthday present!

After Amsterdam I jumped on the train to Den Haag and spent a couple of days there.  I got the tram to the beach one day, and another day I got the tram to Delft and spend the day wandering around there.
