Residency Three: Rio de Janeiro - Classes Start
So a catch up thus far;
Thursday; had a bit of a lay in, and then spent the afternoon having drinks on the rooftop bar of my hotel with some of the Purdue Crew. We then went to dinner at Zuka in Copacabana where we had really great food (amazing octopus)
Friday; a small group of us went to one of the best restaurants in Rio; Aprazivel which was right up in the hills, so we had an amazing view
Saturday; checked out of my hotel in Copacabana and into the hotel for school in Botafogo. It’s nice, but weirdly damp…
Sunday; we were supposed to go for a ‘cultural immersion’ thing with the whole class, but a few of us went for Brunch at the Copacabana Palace instead and stayed all day drinking champagne, G&T’s and people watching - definitely the best way to spend a Sunday.
Monday; Classes started in earnest with an 0830 start. We have to walk to class which is fine as it’s only about 10 minutes away, but the humidity and heat even that early in the morning make you feel like you are baking in the street.
This weeks classes are Risk and Negotiations…
The funny part of class today; agreeing what temperature that air conditioning should be set at! Needless to say, I bring a little cardigan/ jacket and a scarf with me to keep me from getting too cold.
Out lunches are at a restaurant called Pistachio and it’s a nice buffet style lunch
Tuesday; again, back in the classroom. This evening we went for drinks and nibbles on the rooftop lounge at Yoo2 which was nice, however I am back at the hotel and kinda hungry… time to raid the mini bar!
My photos arent all uploading at the moment (dodgy wifi) so I’ll have another go tomorrow
